Diverse Student Union

Meet the Diverse Student Union!
Posted on 12/07/2020
The Diverse Student Union (DSU) at Nepean High School is looking to welcome new members!

The DSU is a student club where Black, Asian, Indigenous, and people of colour (BIPOC) work together to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion along with their fellow white allies. The club offers a safe space for students to learn from one another, share their stories and cultures, and promote social justice and equity. The group has organized many events over the years, including our annual Black History Month assembly and Multicultural nights.

This year, the DSU is planning biweekly sessions, lessons on antiracism, and mentorship for BIPOC students. They hope to amplify the voices of BIPOC students and engage in group discussions that will bring awareness and change within our school community and beyond.

Check out the video below to hear from members of the club. If you would like to get involved, you can contact Mrs. White or Mr. Bakelaar or reach out through the DSU Instagram account.
