- Volunteer with at-risk youth: Chair and Treasurer, Rideau Street Youth Enterprises (a non-profit NGO serving approximately 100 at-risk youth per year, ages 16 to 25).
- Ethnolinguistics: Native language research (member of the Society for the Study of the Indigenous Languages of America).
- Music (guitar, ethnomusicology)
