Athletic Policy

  1. All students must have paid their student fee before being allowed to play.
  2. If a student is not in attendance in school on a particular day, they are not permitted to participate in any games or practices that day.
  3. If a student is absent for part of a day, the student is required to follow the Nepean handbook for proper procedures. (ie signing in and out) If proof of these procedures are not met, the student will not be permitted to participate in any games or practices that day.
  4. Any student that is on suspension, either in school or out of school, will not be permitted to participate in any games or practices during the days in which the suspension takes place.
  5. For any attendance issues involving a student on a team, it is expected that the teacher of that student contact the coach and work out a suitable arrangement regarding the student. If an arrangement cannot be made, mediation will by done by the athletic director.
  6. We encourage all of our student-athletes to achieve the highest possible success, however, we also feel that marks alone are not grounds for removal from a team in part or in whole.
  7. Any student that quits a team may be prohibited from playing any other sport for up to one full year of activity.
The above policy is written by Nepean's Physical Education staff to further help the teachers and coaches. A policy such as this will only work if those using it exercise rigid consistency as well as a true understanding of its role in the school program.
